Explain Scan settings options

  Hi,

   

  there are many options under Scan Settings such as normal estimation, adaptive sampling etc..

  Where can I find an explanation for all these settings ?

  Hi Paul,

  There is no documentation on those, by design, as they are present for computer vision research and require extensive education in computer vision. There is no documentation we could write that would be sufficient to adequately explain them.

  That said, there are two things that are useful for regular use, which are the turntable radius and the cache. Turntable radius sets the cut off point from the center of the scanner, where anything outside that cutoff will not be scanned. Expanding the radius allows you to capture objects that extend off the sides of the turntable. Going into Cache and enabling it allows THREE software to hold the scans in your project in browser/computer memory, so that they don't all have to download from the scanner every time you go from the scanning screen or merge screen back to the scans screen.
