Hi Mark, thanks for your question! First off, we've not tested the scanner in the cold depths of space, I suspect if it is frozen it's not going to work. But leaving that aside... The scanner can ...

We’re thrilled to announce the initial release of the Matter and Form THREE Python library! This library allows any developer the ability to control and interact with the Matter and Form THRE...
Any ETA for the still image capture APIs? I saw an open issue but it's been there for a while.
Dear Matter and Form team, I am a researcher working on robotic sensing for remote, autonomous inspection of modular systems. Ultimately we hope to be able to do autonomous inspection tasks ...
Our intention is for this forum to become the knowledge base for programming THREE. Rather than answering questions via email, we will answer them publicly, here, so that over time they will become...
Yes. If I am doing a capture session away from my desktop (similar to the early example of scanning the air intake manifold while in the garage) and can successfully create the merged mesh th...
Hi Joseph! Thanks for the suggestion. I've passed it on to the dev team! Just to be clear, you want a way to export projects directly to cloud storage? The idea is that you do some scans on THREE u...
This is way lower on the priority, but when using a tablet/chromebook to do a capture session, it would be nice to be able to shut down and pack everything away after the capture is done. But...
I had noise reduction set to 20. The capture settings were always the same as shown here, while brightness and turntable scan/sweep were occasionally adjusted as needed.
Looking good. Are you using the noise reduction option when scanning? I've tried using it at different levels, but I've honestly found I get the best/smoothest results when I just leave it cranked ...
Nice work Joseph, thank you for sharing!! Trevor.
I also posted a video showing off the different merged meshes and textures here (Twitter)
I'm still learning how to use the scanner and also tools to work with the resulting data (Meshmixer and TurboCAD), but I just had a really successful result tonight and had to share. The resu...
Noted on the alignment idea guys. I was thinking something similar the other day when scanning an engagement ring. Let us see what we can do.
@Vaclav Zdrazil and @ROLAND BOILLE Thanks for your feedback and suggestions. We agree that the scanner takes a long time (and occasionally fails) when working with large data sets and we are worki...
@ROLAND BOILLE Yeah, I totally understand you. I've jokingly started calling the scanner a "waiting simulator". Luckily, I'm relatively patient, but sometimes it really annoys me, especially when i...
@Vaclav Zdrazil I'm in the same boat of having many time when trying to remesh were the system hangs and the only way is to power cycle the unit. The one thing I found was my linux system with 16gb...
@Jordan Cain I have the same challenges when working with largely flat items!
It's been a busy couple weeks, but I managed to add a few more parts.Internal rocker switch mechanism for drive direction.Internal battery.Internal circuit board. This one I had to do some post-pro...
Hi Trevor,I finally got around to finding the time to try everything out again. I sent you the scans, including the original ones. Yes, one of the test scans contained a lot of scans because I was ...
