Seconding what Drew said. You *could* also try the Aesub Transparent spray that will dull the reflectivity but still let some color through. I think that would be your best bet with any scanner, no...
Hi Wayne,I think the short answer is, not likely, and you might find this is difficult with any scanner. This is because all scanners have trouble scanning objects that are reflective to the wavel...
Hello I would like to be able to scan small (15mm-60mm) highly reflective minerals, crystals, and gems including capturing their color/texture. For example a clear quartz crystal, or a piece...
Hi Justin, Thanks for your feedback! 1. Polygonal selection - We'll add this to the list, but it will be lowish priority since we already have rectangular and lasso selection tools. 2...
Hi there, at this point I don't even touch my other scanners. I have a creality otter with wireless bridge, raptor, and metroX just collecting dust on my counter because the Three is just that good...
Hi Allen, THREE will not capture geometry very well off most furry objects. It might do a little better with light-colored fur, but it's not going to be great. If the object moves during th...
I don't usually see this mentioned. How does the THREE work on furry objects, like animals, maybe lighter-colored ones, at least. And how about of an object moves slightly during scanning, human or...
I do not know if it's always good idea to make this different to other. Even if they are faster and with higher precission (metrology grade). From my pov this should bring lot of improvements to MA...
Thanks for the suggestion Christian. Again I cannot discuss the details, but suffice to say, this is something that makes us different from Shining and Polyga.
Hi Christian, I'll try to answer your questions the best I can. 1) When looking at speeding up the scan process, we always have to compare the benefits and dissadvantages. Since the scanner is no...
Hi Drew, even the high end structured light scanner from Shining3d, Rangevision and Polyga FlexScan3d are only using one pattern set. Please discuss this with your R&D team and provide feedbac...
Hi Christian, I can't go into the details about it unfortunatly. Suffice to say, mathematically you are correct, but in practise using vertical patterns gives better results. There are no plans to...
Hello all, based on youtube videos i saw that MAF3 is using horizontal AND vertical pattern. From my pov both (vertial + horizontal) is only needed if projector and camera are oriented diagonal (...
In any case, when you give it time, some quite usable things come out of it, although I now prefer to export most things and work directly on the PC. It's significantly more comfortable and faster....
Thanks Jordan for your answer. This means at least for #4 a workaround is available. But it was thinking about "passive mode" so that local SW is receiving captured data from MAF3 and all processin...
I'm not a MAF dev, but I can answer #4 at least. You can already do this. I've exported the raw scan data and processed with meshlab for a few especially large scans.
Hello MAF team, i am really interested in current offer for the MAF Three but i am missing some features and would like to know if something is planned on this on short/long term. 1. Scanning tim...
@Trevor Townsend I understand. I'll upload my results to the OpenScan website. Thanks for your time.
We do not offer sample units, no.
